Fast Facts: Capacity Development and Support to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq through Volunteering

Having a UNV Programme since 2013, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Iraq started implementing UNV Capacity Development and Support to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KR-I) through Volunteering in 2015.
This project has been designed and funded by the Ministry of Planning of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), under the KR-I Vision 2020.
Highlights
- 46 national youth volunteers work on development projects in UN agencies in KR-I
- The project is funded by the KR-I’s Vision 2020 Joint Facility Fund, with a total of US$1,597,298
- Two training courses have been provided in 2015
