UNDP believes that partnerships are fundamental for building broad-based consensus, ensuring ownership, and effective implementation of programmes for sustainable peace and development in Iraq. The overall objective of Swedish development cooperation with Iraq is lasting peace in Iraq, improved overall living conditions and democratic development with stronger Iraqi ownership, improved coordination and harmonisation of development assistance under Iraqi leadership in accordance with the principles of the Paris agenda.
