Basra, 01 November 2017- The southern Governorate of Iraq, Basra, now has a three-year strategic plan for oil and gas. As a key pillar of Basra’s economy, this industry is supposed to employ thousands of workers and generate billions of dollars of revenue each year. Unfortunately, the industry is falling short of its expected developmental goals.
Basra, June 2017- Over 65 potential Iraqi entrepreneurs have been recently trained on establishing small businesses, business management and financial literacy under the UNDP-Shell Partnership in Basra, South of Iraq.
Basra, 03 May 2017- Along with his father, 37 year-old Nazeer has been running the family’s small carpentry workshop for years in Basra, South of Iraq. His business is based on building doors for houses in his village in Al Nashwah sub-district of Basra.
