Training Iraqi Oversight Institutions on Quality Management System in line with ISO-9001: 2008

Istanbul - UNDP Accountability, Transparency and Anti-Corruption programmer (ATAC) with the technical expertise of the Jordanian Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS) and the Iraqi Anti-Corruption Academy, conducted a workshop on quality management system  ISO-9001: 2008 with the view  to clarify and develop standards that are in compliance with recognized international standards, and considering the huge demands of the oversight institutions in Iraq on establishing measures and indicators in quality management.

The workshop was attended by representative from the Federal Commission of Integrity, the Iraqi Anti-Corruption Academy, Kurdistan Commission of Integrity and the Kurdistan Board of Supreme Audit.

The workshop explained the changes and the expected repercussions on the labor system resulting from the application of this quality management system and ISO 9001-2008. It focused on three main areas;

 

·         Raising awareness and clarify the requirements of ISO 2009:2008,

·         Acquiring approval of the adopted quality management system,

·         Becoming certified ISO 9001.

 

The participants showed great appreciation and interest in the contents of the sessions and expressed their intention to apply the ISO 9001:2008 requirement to their institutions.
