The Exhibition

The Future of Climate in Iraq Exhibition is a virtual art exhibition that invites new players in the community to think about the future, grasp the aspiration of the Iraqi community in response to climate change challenges and share their own perception of the climate they want to see in Iraq in the long-term using visual art.

Join this exhibition which is co-organized by the UNDP Accelerator Lab and The Station Iraq, if you are passionate about combating climate change in Iraq and interested in sharing your vision for a greener and sustainable Iraq and advocate for environmental protection.

Criteria: What kind of art can you submit?

Category one: Fine Art (Paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics and printmaking (woodcut and engraving)

Category two: Children Art (paintings and drawings)

Category three: Digital Art (Videos from the future, pictures from the future, digital Drawing and  textile representation)

To submit your artistic work, please complete this form  with name, age, location, phone number, signature, between 100-120 words briefly explaining the idea, and a Google link for a high resolution of the artwork.

Eligibility

To be eligible to enter the exhibition, you must be a citizen of Iraq.

Agreement to Rules

By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to and warrants that his or her entry complies with the rules.

Exhibition Period

The exhibition begins on 26 September 2020 and ends on 30 October 2020 at 11:59 p.m. Arabian Standard Time.

Reward

Three artworks in each category will be selected, and the artists will be invited to showcase their work in a Virtual Art Exhibition on 8 November 2020.

Selection Guidelines

A panel of jurors will determine the winners based on the following criteria:

●      Theme revolves around climate change in Iraq 50%

●      Imagination 25%

●      Outlook for the future 25%

 Rights to Use and Personal Information

Those who submit their artwork agree that UNDP and The Station can use this artwork in their communication channels.

Final Exhibition

The final exhibition will be an art show showcasing the best artworks. Presenters will display their images to the panel of judges and to show and explain their ideas in 3-5 minutes through an event with partners, which will be streamed Live on social media channels.

FAQ

-Who is eligible to compete?

Only citizens of Iraq are eligible to compete. The exhibition contest is open to citizens 18 years and older, and those under 18 who are represented by a parent or legal guardian.

-What language should I use for my submission?

You may submit your entry in the language of your choice: Arabic, Kurdish, or English.

-How will the judges choose?

-How will I know if my artwork will be selected for the final exhibition?

UNDP Iraq will contact you through the e-mail you used for submission by 6 November 2020.

-Can I enter a submission in more than one category?

Each person may enter one submission per category. Do not enter more than once in the same category. For example: You may submit a painting , but not a painting and a digital drawing.
